Does your baby need vitamin D3? [Video]

Video: Does your baby need vitamin D3?

Dr. Vikki Petersen explains the importance of vitamin D supplements for newborns, emphasizing that breastfeeding mothers often have low vitamin D levels, resulting in deficient breast milk. She recommends that mothers ensure their vitamin D levels are healthy to provide sufficient vitamin D through breast milk. Vitamin D3 and K2 supplements are suggested for adults. She encourages a holistic approach to health, ensuring optimal body function rather than just treating symptoms. For assistance, she invites viewers to contact Root Cause Medical Clinic for support in regaining and maintaining health naturally.

Does your baby need vitamin D supplements? I’m talking about a newborn here. This video is a shoutout to my managing director and her two-week-old precious baby boy. She just got back from the hospital for a two-week checkup and was told to start vitamin D right away for her baby. Why is that? Why are moms being told to start vitamin D? Why are they being told that since you’re breastfeeding, which is the most fabulous thing you can do for your newborn, you need to supplement with vitamin D? If you are using formula, which is not nearly as good health-wise by a country mile, then you’d be okay because there’d be vitamin D in the formula.

Where is this coming from? This recommendation is based on the fact that most moms have low vitamin D levels, so their milk is going to be deficient in vitamin D. I happen to know for a fact that my managing director has perfect vitamin D because we made sure of it, and therefore this would not apply to her.

What this is all about, and the reason I’m doing this, is because I think it’s really important that moms know there’s nothing wrong with breast milk as far as vitamin D is concerned, as long as your vitamin D is at a healthy level, which everyone should strive for. That’s what we really need to focus on: getting your vitamin D to a healthy level. Everyone should do that, but as soon as you find out you’re pregnant, get it tested and get it to that great level so your baby has perfect vitamin D through your wonderfully perfect breast milk.

I hope this helps. When we say D, we mean vitamin D3. As an adult, you should be taking vitamin D3 and K2 together. We have a liquid supplement here at Root Cause Medical Clinic, so if you need help with that, we’re happy to assist. If this resonates with you as something that makes sense, which is to ensure your body is functioning optimally so that you enjoy optimal health, it’s really not about giving a drug to suppress a symptom or doing some temporary measure. It’s about looking at your body and health as a whole and optimizing that wonderful piece of machinery you have called the human body so you can enjoy great health.
