Is All Stool Testing the Same?
What you will learn about
Maybe you’ve heard about stool testing and its use in functional medicine. Perhaps you are not enjoying good health and you’re wondering if it might be a beneficial tool to get to the root cause of your problems.
There can be confusion surrounding stool testing because traditional or conventional medicine’s stool tests are vastly different from functional medicine’s comprehensive stool tests.
Traditional medicine vs. Functional medicine
Traditional medicine can offer a stool test to rule out blood in your stool for stomach or colon cancer. It also offers to evaluate for about 3 different inhospitable organisms, including Giardia, Cryptosporidium, C. difficile, and sometimes H. pylori.
Functional medicine comprehensive stool tests are very different and much more robust. They evaluate dozens of organisms of the bacterial, parasitic, amoeba, yeast, and protozoa origin. They also evaluate enzymatic efficiency in digesting food, along with a measurement of the good bacteria present in the bowel.
The tests are very different. It’s important to know the difference if you’re trying to get to the root cause of any health difficulties. Give a listen to learn more.
