Chocolate Hummus
When you hear “hummus,” you may not immediately think of dessert, but this is delicious and healthy! Each serving has about 8 grams of protein, yet it’s low calorie and full of nutrients. This recipe lends a fun twist in that it’s turning a traditional appetizer into a fun snack or dessert. The recipe you see below is not very sweet, but you can decide how sweet you want it.. If you wanted to avoid the maple syrup and stick with only whole foods, consider soaking about 4 dates in hot water and putting them into the food processor instead of the syrup. Dates are plenty sweet but still a whole food. You can take sliced apples, berries or gluten-free toast and dip into this delightful hummus. If you’re introducing kids or picky eaters to eating beans, this is definitely a way where they won’t detect them, yet still very much enjoy the flavor.
