All right, now that we’ve voiced some excuses let’s look at the benefits of exercise:
1. Increases longevity. True! Those who exercise regularly tend to live longer.
2. Reduces your chance of contracting diseases we all want to avoid including heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Actually, all causes of mortality decrease when one is physically fit.
3. It creates a ‘feel-good’ hormone called endorphins. If you’re thinking you have never felt this then perhaps you haven’t ever exercised regularly.
Or, if you truly feel worse after exercising then you could be suffering from adrenal fatigue, something our Clinical Nutrition department specializes in. Please come in to see us and we can figure out why exercise doesn’t make you feel better or in fact, causes you to feel worse. 4. You’ll look better in your clothes. Better toned muscles make you smaller in size in addition to being healthier. Plus more muscle and less fat actually burn calories better and faster.
5. Increases circulation. Better circulation not only makes the heart work better but it assists in delivering the nutrients you eat in your food more efficiently to your cells. You have 10 trillion cells to ‘feed’ in your body, so better circulation assists them to all receive good nutrition.
6. Sweating helps you to detoxify naturally. The body likes to rid itself of toxins through the skin. Sweating assists in this process.
